TD Verbena nears Palawan, Signal No. 1 raised over 6 areas

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised over six areas in Luzon and Visayas as Tropical Depression Verbena nears Palawan.

The tropical depression was last spotted over the coastal waters of Cuyo, Palawan, moving westward at 25 kph.

Areas under Signal No. 1 include Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, the southern portion of Romblon, the northern and central portions of Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo and Cagayancillo Islands, Antique, and the northwestern portion of Aklan.

Pagasa expects Verbena to make landfall over the northern portion of Palawan on Tuesday night.

Under Signal No. 1, wind speeds range from 39 to 61 kph, posing a minimal to minor threat to life and property.
