Taguig opens 2 new vax sites, total now 7

Taguig City has expanded its COVID-19 vaccination program with the opening of two new sites at Western Bicutan National High School and SM Aura's Samsung Hall, bringing the total to seven vaccination centers.

The new mega vaccination hub at SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City is the first in BGC and can accommodate between 500 to 1,000 individuals daily.

The city is prioritizing vulnerable sectors, including healthcare workers (A1), seniors (A2), and individuals with comorbidities (A3), as they are at higher risk of severe illness.

As of April 16, Taguig City has administered a total of 20,292 vaccine doses.

Among those vaccinated, 9,503 are healthcare workers, with about 95% of the city's healthcare workers already inoculated, 5,273 are senior citizens, and 5,516 are individuals aged 18-59 with comorbidities.

The city government is considering extending vaccination services to weekends and holidays to accelerate the inoculation process.
