Taguig mayor warns against BGC outdoor activities

Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano has issued a final warning to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) residents and visitors against engaging in outdoor fitness and leisure activities during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

This warning follows reports and visual evidence of individuals disregarding ECQ rules by jogging and participating in leisure activities outside.

Mayor Cayetano emphasized that such violations endanger individuals and others, while also diverting essential resources.

Authorities have already arrested and charged over 15 ECQ violators in BGC, including foreigners, with more than 500 apprehended city-wide.

Building managers and their security personnel are reminded of their responsibility to help enforce ECQ guidelines.

The mayor also noted that BGC has 30 confirmed COVID-19 infections, underscoring the need for citizen cooperation alongside extensive contact tracing, disinfection, and containment efforts.
