Stepfather arrested for alleged qualified rape of stepdaughter

A stepfather, only identified by the alias "Sam," was apprehended in Caloocan City for allegedly committing qualified rape against his stepdaughter.

The arrest was conducted by the Special Operations Unit of the Northern Police District along with the Northern District Intelligence Team - Regional Intelligence Unit NCR.

A warrant for Sam's arrest was issued by the Family Court in Caloocan City in June 2023.

Authorities stated that the suspect is accused of repeatedly raping his stepdaughter between November 2017 and June 2018 in their Caloocan City residence.

The victim was reportedly between 14 and 15 years old during the commission of the crimes, which led to the charge of qualified rape.

The abuse was revealed when the daughter confided in her mother, prompting the filing of charges.

The victim's statement also indicated that Sam visited her new home in Valenzuela City in June 2018, requesting her return to Caloocan, which intensified her trauma.

Despite the accusations, the accused denied his stepdaughter's claims, admitting only to a conflict that led him to ask them to leave the house previously.
