3 male students arrested for alleged rape of minor in Tondo

Three male Grade 12 students, all 18 years old, have been arrested in Manila for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old female schoolmate in Tondo.

The incident occurred after one suspect invited the victim to a drinking session at his house on the night of April 5.

During the session, the victim reportedly fell asleep due to dizziness and was allegedly raped by the suspects around 2 a.m. on April 6.

She escaped the suspect's house four hours later and reported the assault to a friend, who accompanied her to the Baseco police station on the morning of April 7.

The Manila Police District (MPD) arrested the suspects, identified as John Mark Mabansag, John Mark dela Cruz, and John Emil Cepra, students of a high school in Port Area.

They face charges of violating the Anti-Rape Law in relation to the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
