Habagat to bring rains across South Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is expected to bring rains across Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Areas like the northern portions of Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Aklan, Antique, and Negros Occidental are forecast to experience monsoon rains with potential for heavy downpours leading to flash floods or landslides.

Occasional rains are anticipated in Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Batangas, the rest of MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and the Negros Island Region, with similar risks of flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zambales, Bataan, and other parts of CALABARZON and Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, posing risks of flash floods and landslides.

The rest of Mindanao can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, with severe thunderstorms possibly causing flash floods or landslides.

The Visayas and other parts of the country, including the western section of Southern Luzon and the western, northern and eastern sections of Mindanao, are expected to experience strong winds with rough waters from 2.8 to four meters high.

Moderate to rough waters ranging from 2.1 to 3.7 meters high are forecast to prevail in the rest of Southern Luzon and Mindanao, while slight to moderate waters are expected in the rest of Luzon.
