Southwest Monsoon to bring rains to Northern Luzon; 2 LPAs monitored

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring overcast skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains to Ilocos Region, Apayao, and Abra over the next 24 hours.

Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered light to heavy rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will generally experience fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA is monitoring two Low Pressure Areas (LPAs), one inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and another outside.

The LPA inside the PAR is located 1,155 kilometers east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon and could develop into a tropical cyclone as it moves northwestward.
