SMC, AFP complete 10 quarantine facilities for mild COVID-19 cases

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have completed the construction of 10 emergency quarantine facilities in various military camps nationwide.

These facilities, each with 15 beds for a total capacity of 150, will house COVID-19 patients with mild to no symptoms to reduce strain on hospitals.

SMC President and COO Ramon Ang thanked the AFP for their collaboration in building these isolation areas, stating it will help save more lives, including those of military personnel.

The facilities were completed on various dates between April 22 and May 6, with locations including Zamboanga, Tarlac, Davao City, Lucena City, Cavite City, Quezon City, Cebu City, Camp Aguinaldo, Pasay City, and Palawan.

SMC is also considering building more such facilities and previously donated testing machines, test kits, and personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the Department of Health and other institutions.
