Shear line, amihan bring rains, flash flood risk to Luzon

The Shear Line and the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) are expected to bring cloudy skies and scattered rains to several parts of Luzon on Thursday.

Areas like Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line, with a risk of flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rains.

Batanes, Apayao, Abra, and Ilocos Norte will also have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon, carrying the same risk of flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the provinces of Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon Province, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija are experiencing moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds.

This weather condition may persist for two hours and further affect nearby areas.

Northern Luzon is forecast to have moderate to strong northeasterly winds, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
