Shear line, amihan to bring rains to Northern, Central Luzon

The shear line and the northeast monsoon are expected to bring rains to Northern and Central Luzon on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

The shear line may affect the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon, potentially causing scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora.

Residents in these areas are warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon, or amihan, is expected to affect the rest of Northern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies and rain showers to the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The amihan may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the Ilocos Region.

Additionally, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) may affect Southern Mindanao, causing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Residents in these Mindanao areas are also warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
