Class suspensions declared in Antique, Negros Occidental due to monsoon rains

Class suspensions were declared in several areas in Antique and Negros Occidental for Friday, September 13, due to inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon.

In Antique, specific municipalities including Anini-y, Barbaza, Belison, Pandan, Patnongon, San Remigio, Sebaste, Tobias Fornier, and Valderrama suspended classes at all levels.

Talisay in Negros Occidental also suspended classes from elementary to high school.

Several local government units announced class suspensions for Monday, September 16, due to inclement weather.

These include Magsaysay, Rizal, Santa Cruz, and Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro; Coron, Culion, and Busuanga in Palawan; Patnongon, Barbaza, San Jose de Buenavista, Tibiao, and Sibalom in Antique; Bago City and Dumangas in Iloilo; and Kalibo in Aklan.

Face-to-face classes were suspended in Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Iloilo City, and Cebu City.

PAGASA forecasts monsoon rains over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, BARMM, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Soccksargen, with possible flash floods or landslides.
