Classes suspended in several PH areas due to bad weather

Classes were suspended in several areas across the Philippines on Monday, September 16, 2024, and Tuesday, September 17, 2024, due to inclement weather.

In Western Visayas, various municipalities in Aklan, Antique, and Iloilo canceled classes from preschool up to tertiary levels on Monday.

Specific towns in Aklan like Kalibo, Lezo, and Numancia suspended all levels, both public and private.

Antique province saw suspensions in Barbaza, Caluya, Hamtic, Patnongon, and Tibiao, with some shifting to modular learning.

Several areas in Antique, including Caluya, Libertad, San Jose de Buenavista, and Tibiao, implemented class suspensions for specific grade levels or shifted to modular or non-face-to-face classes.

Iloilo province also announced class suspensions in Barotac Nuevo, Dumangas, Iloilo City, Maasin, and Miagao, affecting various educational levels.

Iloilo City specifically suspended face-to-face classes for preschool to senior high school students and shifted to modular learning.

For Tuesday, September 17, suspensions were announced in Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, Dagupan City, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Gapan in Nueva Ecija, Tarlac City, Magsaysay in Occidental Mindoro, and several areas in Negros Occidental including Binalbagan, E.B. Magalona, Himamaylan, Isabela, La Carlota, Murcia, and Silay City.
