Senate frees Alice Guo's ex-accountant after cooperation in POGO probe

Senator Robin Padilla moved for Gamo's release, citing her cooperation with the committee's investigation.
Committee chairperson Senator Risa Hontiveros approved the motion, stating Gamo is now free from the committee's jurisdiction.
Gamo had been arrested on July 13 and held by the Senate since her appearance.
During the hearing, Gamo admitted serving as Guo's accountant for some companies but denied knowledge of alleged illegal activities.
She had previously testified that she registered Guo's corporations, including two POGO companies, as early as 2012.
The Senate panel also lifted the contempt citation of Dennis Cunanan, who was accused of having ties to an illegal POGO in Porac, Pampanga.
Gamo and Cunanan, along with Guo and others, were previously ordered arrested by the Senate for snubbing invitations to earlier hearings.
