Senate panel orders release of Alice Guo's former accountant Nancy Gamo

The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality has ordered the release of Nancy Gamo, the former accountant of suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

Senator Robin Padilla moved for Gamo's release, citing her cooperation with the committee's investigation.

Committee chairperson Senator Risa Hontiveros approved the motion, stating Gamo is now free from the committee's jurisdiction.

Gamo had been arrested on July 13 and held by the Senate since her appearance.

During the hearing, Gamo admitted serving as Guo's accountant for some companies but denied knowledge of alleged illegal activities.

She had previously testified that she registered Guo's corporations, including two POGO companies, as early as 2012.

The Senate panel also lifted the contempt citation of Dennis Cunanan, who was accused of having ties to an illegal POGO in Porac, Pampanga.

Gamo and Cunanan, along with Guo and others, were previously ordered arrested by the Senate for snubbing invitations to earlier hearings.
