Senate majority persuades Ping Lacson to return as blue ribbon committee chair

Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III indicated that colleagues in the Senate majority are actively persuading Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson to reconsider his resignation from the chairmanship of the Senate blue ribbon committee.

Lacson stated that if he accepts the offer to return as chairman, the potential consequences, including the possible loss of the Senate majority and Sotto's Senate presidency, would not deter him.

He also disclosed that a number of his colleagues expressed disappointment with the direction of the blue ribbon committee under its current leadership.

Lacson previously resigned as chairman on October 6 following investigations into alleged anomalies concerning flood control projects.

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano called out Lacson for involving the minority bloc in the issue.
