Andas ropes snap during 2025 Traslacion, ‘hijos’ now pushing carriage

The Manila Police District confirmed the incidents, with MPD chief Police Brigadier General Thomas Ibay attributing the breaks to the sheer number of devotees pulling the ropes.
Despite the broken ropes, the Hijos del Nazareno continued to push the andas through the crowds.
The procession started at around 4:41 a.m., with the carriage departing from the Quirino Grandstand to head to the Quiapo Church.
This year's procession seems to be taking longer than the previous years, as the 'dungaw' or the solemn moment shared between the images of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel de San Sebastian and Jesus Nazareno at the Minor Basilica of San Sebastian was held at around 5:45 p.m.
