Resort worker dies, another injured in Cavite dispute

One resort worker died and another was injured following a dispute over pool cleaning duties and a drinking spree among staff in Silang, Cavite.

The victims, Dionisio Cabcaban and Emelinda Bacordo, reprimanded three co-workers, identified by aliases Carlo, Jabbar, and Rico, for swimming instead of cleaning the pool.

Agitated by the reprimand, the suspects produced an M16 rifle and bolos.

Alias Carlo allegedly shot Cabcaban and Bacordo with the M16 rifle.

While the victims were on the ground, the suspects purportedly attacked them with bolos.

Cabcaban was pronounced dead on arrival at Tagaytay Medical Center, while Bacordo sustained injuries.

Alias Carlo was arrested at the scene, and the M16 rifle, with a defaced serial number, was recovered.

Aliases Jabbar and Rico managed to escape on foot.
