Rep. Paul Daza tests positive for COVID-19

Northern Samar 1st District Representative Paul Daza announced on Wednesday, August 26, that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Daza shared on Facebook that he received his positive test result on August 25 and is currently hospitalized.

He believes he may have contracted the virus while conducting official duties and meeting with constituents in Catarman town from August 8 to 15.

Despite initially testing negative for COVID-19 before traveling to his province on August 8, Daza began feeling unwell on August 16.

Following his symptoms, he self-isolated at home and followed medical advice, eventually traveling back to Manila on August 24.

He is looking forward to his discharge from the hospital once cleared by his doctors.

Daza advised individuals he came in contact with from August 16 to August 24 to coordinate with local health authorities.

His personnel at the House of Representatives and the Danagas field office have been instructed to immediately initiate contact tracing efforts.
