Rep. Sandro Marcos first signatory on impeachment complaint vs. VP Duterte

Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos confirmed he was the first signatory on the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Marcos cited Duterte's alleged threats in October 2024 to exhume his grandfather's body and throw it into the West Philippine Sea as a reason for his action.

He also mentioned Duterte's alleged threats in November 2024 to hire a hitman to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez if she were to be killed.

Marcos stated that her alleged threats "can't be taken lightly, especially from someone with such a high position."

He emphasized it is his constitutional duty to sign the impeachment complaint as an elected representative and that his signing should not be a surprise.

Marcos had previously criticized Duterte for "crossing the line" and suggested she might need "mental clarity that seems to be eluding her."
