Rain or Shine advances to PBA semis after beating Converge

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters secured a spot in the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals by defeating the Converge FiberXers in a best-of-three series.

Import Deon Thompson led the Elasto Painters with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists, falling just three assists shy of a triple-double.

Adrian Nocum provided crucial support off the bench with 25 points, and Beau Belga also contributed in limited minutes.

A key turning point occurred in the fourth quarter when Rain or Shine initiated an 11-3 run, extending their lead to 91-80.

Despite Converge's efforts to narrow the gap late in the game, timely shots from Nocum and Thompson sealed the 112-103 victory.

This marks Rain or Shine's third straight semifinals appearance, with coach Yeng Guiao expressing happiness at achieving their goal.

The Elasto Painters will now face familiar foe TNT in the semifinals, whom they lost to in the previous year's Governors' Cup semifinals.
