Quezon City partners with CGH, PGC to speed up COVID-19 testing

The Quezon City government has partnered with the Chinese General Hospital and the Philippine Genome Center to speed up the processing and release of COVID-19 test results, aiming to conduct at least 10,000 tests by the end of May.

The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center will process 50 tests daily with results expected within two to three days.

The Philippine Genome Center will also process swab tests, utilizing newly donated PCR test kits from San Miguel Corporation and rapid testing kits from various donors including Bloomberg, Ayala Corp., and Project Ark.

Quezon City aims to intensify its community-based testing to quickly identify, isolate, and treat positive COVID-19 cases.

The city government previously established similar partnerships with St. Luke's Medical Center-Quezon City, Singapore Diagnostics, and the Philippine Red Cross for PCR test processing.
