PSC offers more sports venues as quarantine areas
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is offering its sports facilities, including those at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and PhilSports Complex, to be used as quarantine facilities for COVID-19 patients.
PSC Chairperson William Ramirez stated that seven to eight venues are available for government use to help alleviate hospital congestion.
These include the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, football stadium, track oval, baseball grounds, and two buildings for frontliner accommodations.
The PhilSports Arena and its track and field oval are also among the offered venues.
The Ninoy Aquino Stadium, which has 112 beds, is ready for operation to quarantine asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic coronavirus-positive patients.
Ramirez had consulted with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea regarding the use of these facilities.
