PS-DBM awaits DPWH list for more contractor blacklisting

The Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) is awaiting a list from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to declare more flood-control contractors ineligible for government procurement.

This action follows the recent blacklisting of SYMS Construction Trading and Wawao Builders by the DPWH for their alleged involvement in non-existent "ghost" infrastructure projects.

DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman confirmed that the New Government Procurement Act empowers implementing agencies to blacklist contractors.

The PS-DBM is prepared to cancel the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) membership of these companies to prevent their future participation in government procurement.

Additionally, the PS recently revoked the "platinum" membership of nine companies linked to a former Pasig mayor candidate.
