PH Red Cross kicks off nationwide cleanup drive vs dengue
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has launched a nationwide clean-up drive called 'Linis BEAT Dengue' to combat rising dengue cases.
The initiative involves 500 PRC staff and 5,000 volunteers across 73 chapters and 200 communities.
PRC Chairman and CEO Richard "Dick" Gordon emphasized the importance of community cleanliness in preventing dengue.
PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwen Pang stated that the campaign aims to save lives by promoting clean environments.
The Department of Health reported over 43,700 dengue cases nationwide this year, a more than 50 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
