POC partners with Smart, SportsPlus to support athletes for LA Olympics

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) has announced a significant four-year partnership with Smart Communications and SportsPlus to provide comprehensive support for Filipino athletes preparing for major competitions, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

This collaboration aims to bolster the athletes' training and preparation, both domestically and internationally, with the goal of building upon the success achieved in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

POC President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino expressed optimism that this partnership will enable Filipino athletes to surpass the two-medal performance from the Paris Games and achieve even greater results in future competitions.

The agreement was formalized during a contract signing event held at Gameville Ball Park in Mandaluyong.

This initiative follows the recent success of Filipino athletes in the 2025 World Games held in Chengdu, China, where individuals like Aislinn Yap, Carlos Baylon, Jr., Kaila Napolis, and Chezka Centeno achieved notable victories.
