PNVF forms Alas Pilipinas U-18 for international tournaments

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) has formed the Alas Pilipinas U-18 girls' team for two international tournaments this June.

Coached by Taka Minowa, the team will first compete in the 22nd Princess Cup Southeast Asia U18 Championship from June 8 to 13.

Following the Princess Cup, they will participate in the 5th Asian Women's U18 Volleyball Championship, held from June 16 to 23 in Thailand.

Key players include relatives of prominent volleyball players, such as Bubay Bellen and Chasliey Pepito.

The roster is primarily composed of players from National University-Nazareth School and University of Santo Tomas High School, with additions from La Salle-Zobel and Kings' Montessori School.

For the AVC tournament, the Philippines is drawn in Pool B alongside top-seed Japan and seventh-ranked Iran.

The team has been preparing through tune-up games against Premier Volleyball League (PVL) clubs and their coaching staff includes Karl Dimaculangan, Vilet Ponce-De Leon, and Juan Miguel Dizon.
