Police Corporal Francis Steve Fontillas, a vlogger known for online criticisms against President Marcos and top PNP officials, has resigned from the Philippine National Police (PNP) effective April 10.
His resignation was made irrevocable and approved by NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed his resignation after receiving public complaints about Fontillas' continued online attacks, even while under restrictive custody.
Fontillas primarily targeted President Marcos and several high-ranking PNP officials, including PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil, and was also facing a case of inciting to sedition.
The QCPD emphasized that Fontillas' current views as a private citizen do not represent the PNP's policies or operations.
However, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) stated that Fontillas' resignation does not absolve him of the administrative and potential criminal charges filed against him.
Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan said they are set to rule on Fontillas' administrative cases within the week, and if found guilty, Fontillas could be perpetually disqualified from holding government posts and forfeit his benefits.
