PNP reports generally peaceful first day of Eleksyon 2025 campaign

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the first day of the Eleksyon 2025 campaign period on February 11 was generally peaceful nationwide.

No major incidents were recorded during the first day of campaigning for senatorial and party-list groups.

PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo had previously assured that security coverage was prepared for national candidates nationwide.

Additional police personnel were deployed to key locations and engagement areas based on coordination with candidates' campaign schedules.

PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil had ordered maximum police deployment, especially in identified election areas of concern.

As of January 9, 403 areas were classified as election areas of concern, categorized as Yellow, Orange, and Red based on past incidents and security threats.

The PNP urged candidates, supporters, and the public to uphold peace, order, and the rule of law throughout the campaign period and to report any election-related concerns.
