PNP raises over PHP30M for COVID-19 response

Metro Manila police officers have raised over PHP30 million in personal contributions to the 'Team PNP Bayanihan Fund Challenge' to support the government's COVID-19 response efforts.

This amount exceeded the National Capital Region Police Office's (NCRPO) original target of PHP25.7 million.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas stated that contributions are purely voluntary, acknowledging that officers also have families affected by the health crisis.

The Quezon City Police District was the top donor with PHP5.3 million, followed by the Eastern Police District with PHP4.87 million, and the Northern Police District with PHP4.45 million.

Sinas commended the officers' generosity and dedication, emphasizing their commitment to serving the community.

This initiative is part of the Philippine National Police's larger goal to collect PHP200 million from its personnel nationwide.
