PNP postpones recruitment processing indefinitely

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has indefinitely postponed the resumption of its recruitment processing until further notice.

This decision was made due to difficulties in completing documentary requirements, policy amendments, and health concerns raised by National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Directors.

The PNP also cited pending clearance from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the movement of applicants between borders as a reason for the postponement.

This announcement contradicts an earlier statement by PNP spokesperson Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, who indicated that recruitment and training programs were set to resume on June 1.

However, the PNP has rescheduled the resumption of frontline administrative functions and regulatory services, such as processing of licenses, permits, and clearances, to June 4.

Units under the PNP Civil Security Group, including the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) and Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA), will resume operations on Thursday.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa stated the delay in administrative services is to control public turnout and ensure the safety of PNP personnel, considering the transition into general community quarantine (GCQ).
