PNP Covid-19 testing center opens in Camp Crame
The Philippine National Police (PNP) opened its own RT-PCR COVID-19 testing facility on May 26 inside Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The facility, accredited by the Department of Health, can conduct up to 150 tests per day and will prioritize police frontliners.
PNP chief Police General Archie Gamboa emphasized the need for the police force to have its own testing capability due to the increasing trend of COVID-19 cases among them.
A mobile swabbing facility will also be launched in the National Capital Region for PNP personnel.
As of May 26, the PNP has counted 281 cops positive for the coronavirus, with 117 recoveries and 4 deaths.
Additionally, 739 personnel are categorized as probable cases and 594 as suspected cases of COVID-19.
