310 Bacolod cops tapped for Negros Oriental poll security
The Police Regional Office for the Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is increasing its police presence in Negros Oriental for the upcoming May 12 elections with an augmentation force of 310 police officers from the Bacolod City Police Office.
These reinforcements are scheduled to arrive three days prior to the election date.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec)-NIR also confirmed the deployment of specialized units, including the Special Action Force and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
The Philippine Army's 303rd Infantry Brigade is also involved in the security efforts.
Collaborative efforts are being undertaken with the Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, and other government security forces to secure the elections.
