Over 1.5K cops to augment security preps in 2 W. Visayas provinces
The Philippine National Police (PNP) regional office in Eastern Visayas has deployed 237 police officers to bolster provincial police offices in preparation for the upcoming midterm elections.
This deployment aims to fill personnel gaps and strengthen existing forces to ensure a secure, accurate, free, and fair electoral process in the region.
The augmented police force will be distributed across Leyte, Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, and Samar provinces.
Additionally, 127 police personnel from national headquarters and regional support units will form the Regional Reactionary Standby Support Force, ready for immediate deployment as needed.
The PRO-8 has been on full alert status since May 3 and will remain so until May 15 to manage intensified preparations for the 2025 National and Local Elections.
