PRO-1 sends 193 cops to BARMM for election duties

Around 193 police personnel from Police Regional Office 1 (PRO-1) were deployed to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to serve as Special Electoral Boards (SEBs) for the upcoming elections.

The deployment is intended to reinforce peace and order efforts in BARMM and serves as a professional development opportunity for the personnel.

The deployed officers underwent training from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and were certified by the Department of Science and Technology to operate automated counting machines (ACMs).

Police Regional Office 1 director Brig. Gen. Lou Evangelista reminded the officers to uphold the integrity of the Philippine National Police (PNP), respect human rights, and perform their duties with vigilance and professionalism.

Meanwhile, PRO-1 has assured that the Ilocos Region remains well-secured with over 5,000 police officers to be deployed across voting centers on election day.
