More than 1,000 cops deployed to secure PNoy burial
More than 1,000 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel were deployed to provide security and maintain peace and order during the funeral of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar stated that the deployment covered key areas such as the Ateneo de Manila University, Times Street, and the Manila Memorial Park.
Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) were assigned to provide security both inside and outside the Ateneo de Manila University.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also contributed personnel to assist in the funeral arrangements.
The Highway Patrol Group (HPG) was also present to ensure the smooth transfer of the former President's remains.
Eleazar mentioned that security measures would be implemented at the Heritage Park due to the pandemic and advised the public to monitor the ceremonies via media coverage.
