PNP Covid-19 cases reach highest since September

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that 12,042 police officers have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

As of Thursday, there were 70 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered PNP personnel to 12,042.

The PNP currently has 1,750 active Covid-19 cases, with 171 new infections reported, increasing the total case count to 13,792.

Of the new cases, 85 were from the Police Regional Offices (PRO), 63 from the National Operations Support Units, 17 from the National Administrative Support Units, and six from the National Headquarters in Camp Crame.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) topped the list of new infections with 38 cases.

This marks the highest number of active coronavirus cases recorded by the police force since September 12, 2020, when there were 1,708 active cases.

The death toll among PNP personnel due to Covid-19 remains at 36.

PNP Chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, recommended the vaccination of all personnel under the Joint Task Force Covid Shield.
