Covid-19 cases in PNP drop as more cops get vax
A total of 22,938 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with an additional 68,372 having received their first dose.
The PNP currently has 1,192 active COVID-19 cases out of a total of 29,476 confirmed infections.
There have been 28,205 recoveries and 78 deaths within the PNP due to the virus.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar noted a significant drop in new infections, with only 45 cases recorded on Wednesday, down from an average of 50 to 100 daily.
Gen. Eleazar attributed the decrease to vaccination, stating that more police officers are becoming protected by vaccines.
Over 93 percent of PNP personnel are now willing to be vaccinated, with aggressive information dissemination proving effective.
