PNP confirms 7th Covid-19 case

The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed its seventh police officer tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The four new cases include a 53-year-old male, a 52-year-old male, a 47-year-old female, and a 46-year-old male, all assigned in Metro Manila.

All confirmed cases are currently undergoing self-quarantine or isolation and are following Department of Health (DOH) protocols.

As of Tuesday, the PNP has 145 personnel categorized as persons under investigation (PUIs) and 1,416 personnel as persons under monitoring (PUMs).

Due to the increasing number of PUIs and PUMs, PNP chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa directed that the Kiangan Billeting Center (KBC) inside Camp Crame be open for personnel needing self-quarantine, offering 43 rooms with free board and lodging, food, and Wi-Fi.

Additionally, the PNP formed a Medical Reserve Force (MRF) at its national headquarters to support its Covid-19 Operations Task Force, consisting of 257 police personnel who specialized in medicine-related courses.
