VP Sara Duterte supporters gather at EDSA Shrine amid probes

Around 200 supporters of Vice President Sara Duterte gathered at the EDSA Shrine for a second night, showing support amidst investigations into her office's confidential funds and alleged death threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Malacañang acknowledged Duterte's statement about a plot targeting the First Couple and Speaker Martin Romualdez if she is killed as an 'active threat'.

The National Bureau of Investigation has issued a subpoena for Duterte to explain her statements.

PNP spokesperson BGen. Jean Fajardo stated that there was a logbook of those who allegedly received payment, and the PNP presented a video showing alleged hauling of supporters to the rally, with claims they were promised payment and food allowance.

Supporters have refuted claims of receiving money, and the PNP has deployed personnel to ensure Duterte's security and maintain peace and order.

The rector of the EDSA Shrine noted that some supporters were eating and sleeping inside the church premises due to fatigue and hunger.
