Unusual crowd gathers at EDSA Shrine

Hundreds of people unexpectedly flocked to the EDSA Shrine on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with church officials describing the turnout as unusual.

Shrine rector Father Jerome Secillano reported that 400 to 600 individuals stayed inside and outside the shrine from morning until the afternoon.

Secillano noted that while some attendees wore white and attended Mass, a number did not know the proper religious etiquette.

He also mentioned that when asked about their reasons for visiting, some attendees were unsure.

While Secillano declined to explicitly link the attendees to a political camp, he speculated they might have been mobilized due to current events and possibly came from a group facing controversies.
