PBBM orders PNP, PCG to boost vigilance vs. drug entry points

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to enhance vigilance at all major drug entry points.

Marcos instructed both agencies to ensure the swift destruction of seized illegal drugs to prevent their recirculation into the market.

This directive is part of a revised national drug strategy aimed at intercepting narcotics at their entry points, particularly along coastlines and maritime routes.

The President emphasized the importance of transparency and the physical presence of law enforcement officials during the drug destruction process.

He specifically mandated that accurate tallies of confiscated drugs be made before they are immediately destroyed, preferably through burning, to ensure no quantity is missing.
