PBBM touts successful 'bloodless' war on drugs

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. highlighted the effectiveness of his administration's "bloodless" approach to the war on drugs, noting that PHP62 billion worth of shabu has been seized since he assumed office in June 2022.

He emphasized that the government is implementing a "new concept" to address the drug problem, focusing on peaceful methods rather than violent ones.

Marcos stated that the administration is targeting both the highest and lowest levels of the drug trade, from syndicates to street-level pushers.

The President praised the vigilance of coastal towns and highlighted the role of the public in the government's holistic anti-drug strategy that emphasizes prevention, rehabilitation, and continuous law enforcement.

He inspected over PHP8.87 billion worth of recovered "floating shabu" weighing more than 1.3 tons, which were intercepted off Luzon shores and represents the largest drug haul in the history of the Philippines for a six-month period.

No cases have been filed, and no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the floating drugs.
