Philippines records 3,604 new COVID-19 cases lowest since May

The Philippines recorded 3,604 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, bringing the national total to 1,481,660.

This is the lowest daily infection count since May 23, with active cases dropping to 46,934.

Of the active cases, 89.6% are mild, 4.3% are asymptomatic, 2.6% are severe, and 1.6% are in critical condition.

The country also saw 5,840 recoveries, increasing the total number of individuals who have recovered from the virus to 1,408,634.

Regrettably, 77 new deaths were reported, raising the total COVID-19 death toll in the Philippines to 26,092.

The Department of Health (DOH) noted that five duplicate cases were removed from the case count, 72 recoveries were reclassified as active cases, and 47 recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation.

Seven laboratories did not submit their data, and overall ICU bed utilization in the country stands at 57%, with 36% of mechanical ventilators in use.

In the National Capital Region, 43% of ICU beds are in use, and 33% of mechanical ventilators are occupied.
