Philippine Navy warships depart India with 18 Filipinos, 200,000 face masks

Two Philippine Navy warships, BRP Davao del Sur (LD602) and BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS16), departed India after picking up 18 Filipino tourists and a donation of 200,000 face masks.

The Naval Task Force (NTF) 82 is transporting the tourists, who have been medically cleared and are under constant monitoring.

A Philippine Navy medical team, equipped with proper PPE, oversaw the onboarding process, which included disinfection of belongings, thermal scanning, and vital signs checks.

The donation of face masks was part of a larger contribution from Filipino businessman Paul Dantes and was coursed through the Office of Civil Defense.

The ships are expected to arrive back in the Philippines by the last week of May.
