AFP delivers over 1M lbs of medical supplies nationwide

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has utilized its aircraft and vessels to deliver over one million pounds of critical medical supplies and equipment nationwide to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Philippine Air Force planes and Philippine Navy ships have transported personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, and health personnel.

A C-130 transport plane was dispatched to Xiamen, China, to retrieve PPE sets and other government-procured supplies from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

The BRP Ramon Alcaraz and BRP Davao Del Sur were sent to India to load up three metric tons of PPE sets, having previously been in Oman to assist overseas Filipino workers affected by the conflict in Iran.

Another Navy ship, the BRP Bacolod City, is en route to Davao City with 11,764 boxes of assorted supplies from China, which is part of the 23,385 boxes of PPE procured by the DBM.
