PH records lowest COVID-19 cases since August 10

The Philippines logged 9,055 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, October 5, the lowest daily infections recorded since August 10.

This brings the country's total confirmed cases to 2,613,070.

Active cases slightly decreased to 103,077, with 78.8% being mild, 11.4% asymptomatic, 2.9% severe, and 1.2% critical.

Total recoveries climbed to 2,471,165 with 12,134 new ones.

The death toll remained at 38,828 with no new fatalities reported.

Seven laboratories failed to submit data on time, and 25 duplicate cases were removed from the total count.

Nationwide, 72% of ICU beds are utilized, and 72% of ICU beds in the National Capital Region are occupied.
