PH receives 1M additional Sinovac doses

The Philippines received an additional one million doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

This delivery is the first batch of CoronaVac doses to arrive this month and brings the total number of Sinovac doses received by the country to approximately 13 million.

The vaccine czar, Carlito Galvez Jr., mentioned that the new batch would be distributed to local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila, particularly those that have suspended administering Sinovac doses due to a lack of supply.

The majority of these doses are intended for second doses, as provinces are awaiting them after having expedited the administration of first doses.

An additional 1.5 million doses of Sinovac are expected to be delivered on July 17.

Meanwhile, approximately 250,800 doses of the Moderna vaccine are scheduled to arrive on July 15, with the government and private sector purchasing them.
