PH logs record 702k COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on Aug 3

The Philippines administered a record 702,013 COVID-19 vaccine doses on August 3.

This daily accomplishment surpassed the government's target of inoculating 500,000 doses daily and reaching 700,000 daily jabs by the fourth quarter of the year.

As of August 3, a total of 21.88 million doses have been administered nationwide.

Out of the total doses administered, 233,065 individuals received their first dose and 468,948 were fully vaccinated.

The National Capital Region (NCR) also set a record by administering 203,062 doses on August 3.

Nearly 9.83 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated, representing 13.87% of the target eligible population.

The high number of fully inoculated individuals was partly due to the deployment of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which was donated by the United States and the COVAX facility.
