PH logs over 1 million COVID-19 recoveries

The Philippines has logged 1,069,868 recoveries from COVID-19, with 7,541 new survivors reported on Sunday, May 16, 2021.

This brings the national recovery rate to 93.5 percent of total infections, which have reached 1,143,991.

There are 54,904 active cases, with the majority exhibiting mild symptoms (93.3 percent).

The DOH also recorded 5,790 new infections and 140 new deaths, raising the toll to 19,191.

Nationwide, 58 percent of intensive care unit beds, 43 percent of isolation beds, and 47 percent of ward beds dedicated for COVID-19 patients are in use.

In Metro Manila, 57 percent of ICU beds, 42 percent of isolation beds, and 47 percent of ward beds for coronavirus cases are occupied.
