PH logs 5,803 new COVID-19 cases, active cases at 57,679

The Philippines logged 5,803 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total case count to 1,359,015.

Active cases in the country are now at 57,679, with 91.9% being mild cases.

Total recoveries increased to 1,277,715 after 7,652 new recoveries were reported.

The country's death toll rose to 23,621 with 84 new fatalities.

Eight duplicates were removed from the total case count, and 115 recoveries were reclassified as deaths.

Nationwide, 57% of intensive care unit (ICU) beds are in use, and 36% of mechanical ventilators are occupied.

In the National Capital Region, 43% of ICU beds and 32% of ventilators are in use.
