PH logs 5,279 new COVID-19 cases, 208 deaths

The Philippines has logged 2,756,923 total COVID-19 cases, with 5,279 new infections reported on Sunday, October 24, 2021.

Total recoveries have reached 2,654,173 after 7,312 new recoveries were reported on the same day, accounting for 96.3 percent of the total case count.

Active cases nationwide now stand at 60,957, with 77.5 percent experiencing mild symptoms, 9.20 percent moderate, 5.1 percent severe, 6.1 percent asymptomatic, and 2.1 percent critical.

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 208 new deaths, bringing the total death toll to 41,793.

On October 22, 10.3 percent of 52,881 individuals tested for COVID-19 were positive.

Nationwide, 53 percent of ICU beds, 41 percent of isolation beds, 38 percent of ward beds, and 37 percent of ventilators are in use.
